What is Otoplasty?

Ear surgery or otoplasty, is a surgical procedure that is carried out to change the size, shape and / or position of the ears in patients with aesthetic objectives, due to congenital defects or reconstructive needs. It is also possible to repair deformations in the lobes due to the use of earrings or trauma.

In general, otoplasty can be performed at any age, as long as the patient’s ears have reached their final size (this usually occurs after 6 years of age). The surgery consists of reshaping the cartilage and tissues of the ears according to the specific needs of each patient.
