What is a Bichectomy?

Also known as cheek reduction, bichectomy is a surgical procedure that involves the resection of fat deposits known as “Bichat’s fat pads”, which are found in all people in the middle sector of the cheeks, on both sides of the face.

Bichectomy consists of making two small incisions in the oral cavity mucosa for the extraction of the Bichat’s fat pads that will not leave visible scars. By removing this tissue, the face will get a more streamlined and defined look.
